The index, developed by the European Commission, includes the four dimensions of connectivity, human capital, digital integration and digital public services, each consisting of numerous weighted subcategories.
Since 2014, the DESI has been published annually, enabling long-term monitoring of developments in the EU Member States. A scale from 0 to 100 is used for the index. Each of the dimensions contributes one quarter to the overall score.
