In Germany, more than 80 % say they have at least a little knowledge about artificial intelligence. Only 2 % say they have never heard of artificial intelligence. One sixth say they have heard of it, but don’t actually know what AI is.
If one differentiates the self-assessed level of knowledge according to age, it becomes apparent that young people in particular state that they know a lot about AI, while older people state that they know the least about it.:
