Employees in the ICT sector

The indicator shows what proportion of employees in a country work in the information and communication technologies (ICT) sector. This allows conclusions to be drawn about the size of the ICT sector.

As a study presented in our Topic Monitor shows, the ICT sector is a strong job engine of the economy and, with its high innovation rate, an important sector in international competition.

In 2020, the ICT sector was particularly strong in Malta and Estonia. Greece has only a small share of employees in the ICT sector. Germany ranks in the middle of this comparison; from 2015 to 2020, the share of employees in the ICT sector increased here, as in almost all other european countries.
