Artificial intelligence has long since arrived in the everyday lives of many people. It is changing work processes, influencing the media and opening up new opportunities in healthcare. At the same time, there are uncertainties, questions and social expectations.
In order to strengthen the social dialogue on the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence, the Bavarian adult education centres, together with the bidt, the National Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech) and the Plattform Lernende Systeme – Die Plattform für Künstliche Intelligenz, have launched the free, hybrid event series “Servus, KI! The Bavarian dialogue on artificial intelligence”.
In easy-to-understand presentations followed by a discussion, experts from science and practice provide an insight into the opportunities, risks and specific applications of AI. The series brings citizens into dialogue with experts at selected adult education centres. All events take place on site and are also streamed online.
Upcoming events in the series include a lecture by Dr Roland A. Stürz, Head of Department at the Think Tank at the bidt, on how AI is changing our working world. Sabine Pfeiffer, professor of sociology and member of the bidt board of directors, will also enrich the series with a contribution on how employees position themselves on the use of AI in the workplace. Other topics in the series include AI in journalism, with presentations by Hannah Schmid-Petri, Professor of Science Communication at the University of Passau and member of the bidt Board of Directors, and Dr Daria Kravets-Meinke, Research Officer at the bidt.
