Using AI as a tool for more democracy, social justice and quality of life: AI4Democracy was founded in December 2023 with this guiding principle.
AI4Democracy brings together stakeholders from democracy-promoting organisations, AI experts, science and politics to shape the digital transformation for the common good. The aim is to use AI as a tool for more democracy, social justice and quality of life. The non-profit impact alliance aims to actively shape the transformation of society through AI with concrete ideas and strengthen civil society’s trust in democracy with the help of AI.
Because a confident approach to AI is central to Germany and Europe, a comprehensive range of free educational programmes on the topic of AI and democracy has been created for various target groups: The interactive learning platform Civic AI Academy provides the necessary knowledge to make AI accessible to everyone. The AI4D Accelerator promotes projects to strengthen democracy.
AI4Democracy’s members include numerous well-known organisations, including Correctiv, the TUM Think Tank, Brand New Bundestag, Cosmonauts & Kings, the AI Campus, SUMM AI, N3XTCODER, Make.org and now also the bidt.
