Dr. Niina Zuber
Research Coordinator , bidt
Dr Niina Zuber is a research coordinator in the research area “State, Regulation and Infrastructure” at the bidt. As an ethicist, she deals with the challenges of ethical software design, requirements engineering and the question of how ethical principles can be methodically integrated into software development. A particular focus of her work is the interaction between software and democracy, in particular how digital technologies influence democratic processes and what ethical requirements arise from this for software development. She has explored these topics in depth as part of the bidt project “Ethics in agile software development”.
After studying philosophy, economics and sociology in Tübingen and at the University of Oregon, she completed her doctorate at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) on developing software ethically. Previously, she worked as a research consultant at Cognostics AG, a start-up in the field of software development. Before joining bidt, she was at the LMU Munich and worked at the Zentrum Digitalisierung Bayern (ZD.B) at the interface of culture and digital transformation.
