Young Scientist of the Year 2024 is Dr. Steffen Schneider, Head of the Dynamical Inference Lab at Helmholtz Zentrum München. Constitutional and digital law expert Dr. Sarah Rachut from the Technical University of Munich was awarded 2nd place for her outstanding work in the interest of a digital transformation oriented towards the common good. She has been part of the bidt Graduate Center for Doctoral Researchers since 2022. We congratulate Sarah Rachut on this award!

In 2024, Sarah Rachut was already recognized by Possible and the Handelsblatt as a Young Leader in GovTech 2024 in the category “Science & Civil Society” and her dissertation “Fundamental Rights Realization in Digital Contexts” was awarded the Bernd-Hentschel Prize of the Society for Data Protection and Data Security e.V. (GDD).
