Katharina Hajek is pursuing a doctorate in social psychology at the Berlin University of the Arts and is currently working at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich on a project to develop a new multidimensional measurement instrument for psychological reactance. From March to November 2022, she was a visiting researcher at the University of California, Berkeley, at the Center for Science, Technology, Medicine and Society (CSTMS), where she was part of the Algorithms of Culture, Science and Technology Studies, and New Media research groups. During her doctoral studies, she received a scholarship from the Stiftung der Wirtschaft (sdw) until November 2023.
