Prof. Dr. Daniela Nicklas

Daniela Nicklas took over the newly established TAO Chair of Mobile Systems at the University of Bamberg on April 1, 2014. She completed her doctorate in 2005 at the University of Stuttgart in the Collaborative Research Center “Nexus – Environment Models for Mobile Context-aware Systems”. After a post-doc phase there, she took over the junior professorship for database and internet technologies at the University of Oldenburg in 2008, where she also conducted applied research in the domains of automotive and maritime IT systems at the OFFIS affiliated institute. The core of her research is data management for often mobile, sensor-based systems, which she also investigates and develops directly on site in Bamberg in the Living Lab Bamberg, a test room for smart city applications. Together with Prof. Dr. Marc Redepenning and Prof. Dr. Astrid Schütz, she heads the Smart City Research Lab at the University of Bamberg.
