Brief description of my doctoral project

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone of Germany’s economy, employing millions and driving innovation. Yet they face mounting pressure: sustainability demands, rising costs, and global competition. To stay competitive, they need smart digital solutions tailored to their needs. My research focuses on the Twin Transformation: combining digital transformation and sustainability transformation to strengthen SMEs. Building on my work in sustainable artificial intelligence (AI), I aim to translate complex research and regulations into clear, practical guidance for managers and developers. Specifically, I am exploring how AI and generative AI can be leveraged to provide economic value, sustainable competitive advantages, and humancentric design.
