Sofie Fleischer

Sofie Fleischer is a Researcher in the Research Department at the bidt. She is currently conducting research in the interdisciplinary project “Between criticism and campaigning: On the strategic use of media hostility in digital crisis discourse”. After completing her bachelor’s degree in sociology and gender studies at University of Göttingen, she earned her master’s degree in sociology at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and Carleton University in Ottawa. During this time, she already worked at the bidt as a research assistant in the Communications and Dialogue Department. Her master’s thesis dealt with gender roles in right-wing extremist groups. Her other research interests include qualitative methods of empirical social research and cultural and knowledge sociology with a focus on gender and difference.
