The project focuses on experimentation as a central perspective-related way of thinking, working and acting in elementary school science lessons. It will be investigated to what extent the use of digital media as learning support has an influence on content-related learning growth, motivation and experimental competence. Digital media lend themselves to support self-directed experimentation adaptively, collaboratively and through visualizations (see Potentials of digital media – Herzig & Grafe, 2007, Tulodziecki et al., 2018). The underlying fields, computer science and natural sciences, are united by the “STEM access difficulty” (Steffensky et al., 2020; Holtmann et al., 2019). This requires increased attention in elementary schools and increased knowledge in research.
