Quantum Security of Cryptographic Algorithms

Digitization requires information security: data must be protected against unauthorized access as well as manipulation. These goals are achieved by cryptographic algorithms. Since the mid-1990s, it has been known that quantum computers can break most cryptographic algorithms in use today, wreaking havoc. Cryptographic algorithms that provide security against quantum computers are therefore necessary to ensure information security in the future. The project deals with security against quantum computers in general: from evaluating the security of concrete cryptographic algorithms to defining different security levels against quantum computers.
