94.7% of all museums were forced to close their doors due to the Corona pandemic. Thus, digital museum offerings emerged abruptly – a real digitization pressure developed for the museums.
This is the starting point of the dissertation: To what extent can the pandemic be understood as an accelerator of museum digitization and how has digitization changed?
From the theoretical insights gained, user surveys will be developed, which will then lead to a platform for the digitization of art. The goal is to find out whether a digital museum can exist and whether the digital space offers opportunities to experience art comprehensively and appropriately.
