Brief description of the doctoral project

As part of my doctorate, I am contributing to basic research in the field of tinnitus and to the optimisation of digital therapy services. To date, there is no systematically effective therapy for tinnitus, so the subtyping of patients with the aim of personalised medical care is the focus of research. I would particularly like to address the differences between men and women in the effectiveness of therapies (‘gender medicine’). My main focus is on app-based interventions, as they offer many advantages for both researchers (generation of large amounts of data) and patients (easy access, personalisation possible). The results of the dissertation should increase the effectiveness of these apps through improved personalisation and scientific validation, thereby increasing their usefulness in a clinical context.
