In the context of the doctoral project, a video-based simulation is being further developed with which student teachers can already train the diagnostic competencies that are central to the everyday work of teachers as part of their university education. The further development of the simulation enables the individualization of learning and thus the increase of learning gains through real-time adaptation of possible support measures to learner prerequisites and learner performance. Scientific research of the simulation serves first as a basis and then for the evaluation of the further development. At the same time, it allows the identification of possible conditions of success for the effective use of simulations and insofar the further development of simulations as digital learning tools.
