Dr.-Ing. Maximilian Austerjost

Maximilian Austerjost is an industrial engineer with a passion for digital transformation in value networks. From 2014 to 2020, he was a research assistant at the Chair of Corporate Logistics at TU Dortmund University. In research and teaching, he dealt with design principles for resource-saving intralogistics, IT solutions for the sharing economy in production and warehousing as well as the realization of IT ecosystems for knowledge exchange between companies. He completed his doctorate in this field with distinction. Since 2021, Maximilian Austerjost has been working as Head of Blockchain at the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics in Dortmund. There, he and his team develop blockchain-based application software for sustainable, decentralized logistics networks. Since 2022, he has also been Research Coordinator for the Institute’s Corporate Logistics division. Most recently, he was appointed to the Scientific Board of Fraunhofer IML in January 2024.
