Dr. Matthias Schulze

Dr Matthias Schulze is the head of the research focus “International Cyber Security” at the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy at the University of Hamburg (IFSH). He holds a doctorate in political science and hosts the podcast “Perception.de”. Matthias Schulze researches the “dark side” of digitalisation: the strategic use of cyber capabilities in international relations, “cyber war” / cyber conflicts, cyber espionage, information operations and cyber crime as well as digital surveillance. His regional focus is on the major cyber powers such as the USA, the EU, Russia, China and North Korea.
