As a member of the research group “Education in a Digital World” at the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi), I am conducting research on the opportunities and challenges of using digital media in educational contexts as part of my dissertation. The focus is on the investigation of motivation, willingness to participate and processing behavior in formal or non-formal, digital learning contexts (e.g. university teaching, private continuing education). My research questions include, for example, what log data (i.e., automatically collected behavioral data) can contribute to predicting student success, which individuals are reached with voluntary online courses, or which characteristics characterize learners who are able to maintain their motivation over course completion.
