
Prof. Dr. Jörg Siekmann
Professor Dr Jörg Siekmann studied mathematics and physics in Göttingen. In 1973, he received his M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Essex, England, where he completed his doctorate in Artificial Intelligence under Pat Hayes in 1976. He is one of the founding fathers of the first Collaborative Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence that helped the field slowly gain momentum in Germany and founded the German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) in Kaiserslautern with colleagues. He is the founder and first spokesperson of the AI specialist group in the German Informatics Society (GI). He is a Fellow of the GI and EuAI and Founding Editor of Springer Lecture Notes in AI (LNAI) and other scientific journals and book series.
