Brief description of the doctoral project

Despite its high social relevance and the constant introduction of new technologies, digitalisation in the healthcare sector is only progressing very slowly. In particular, the exchange of digital health data is seen as playing a key role in the digital transformation of the healthcare sector. A solution based on European and German values (e.g. empowering citizens to manage health data independently and make sovereign decisions about its use) is desirable. I deal with the question of integrating suitable technical solutions into the German healthcare system and healthcare infrastructure. In particular, I am researching the solution space for business models of digital ecosystems in the healthcare sector, which combines the technical requirements with those of an economically viable and public welfare-oriented solution.
