Brief description of the doctoral project
As the digital transformation progresses, companies are increasingly networked in ecosystems in order to create value together. In addition, the amount of data is growing, the utilization of which holds great value potential for companies and society. Centralized ecosystems are typically designed to maximize the profits of platform owners, which leads to an unfair distribution of the added value created in the ecosystem. Decentralized data ecosystems based on data spaces, on the other hand, are designed to address this imbalance. Decentralization creates new opportunities for value creation and should lead to a fairer distribution of added value in the ecosystem. The doctoral project aims to derive design options for business models in decentralized data ecosystems in order to create economic and social added value.
