Fay Carathanassis

Fay Carathanassis is a Researcher at the bidt. She studied law at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich. As part of her studies, she specialised in competition law, intellectual property and media law. She then successfully completed her legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Munich. During her clerkship, she worked, among others, at a renowned media law firm and an international US media company. Since May 2021, she has been a research assistant at the Chair of Law and Security in Digital Transformation of Professor Dr. Dirk Heckmann at the Technical University of Munich and is doing her doctorate in the field of media law. She has been researching at the bidt since November 2023 in the project “Challenges of regulating digital communication platforms”.
