The impact of financial technology on consumer financial health.

In my research, I examine how financial technology can be used to promote consumer financial health in the five areas: Income, Spending, Savings, Debt, and Future Planning. To this end, I partner with FinTechs to conduct field experiments aimed at improving consumer financial behavior through digital nudges. For example, I have studied how users of a FinTech app can be persuaded to save more with the help of a New Year’s resolution. In ongoing projects, I am testing other behavioral research-based nudges to encourage financially healthy habits among consumers. My research is designed to support the large percentage of consumers who have problems with personal finances. In doing so, it contributes to achieving several Sustainable Development Goals defined by the United Nations.
