Prof. Dr. Christoph Bieber

Christoph Bieber (*1970) is Professor of Political Science at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Since 2011, he has been researching the topics of ethics, transparency and public communication as well as democracy and digitalization. Since 2021, he has been on leave at the Center for Advanced Internet Studies (CAIS) in Bochum, where he will head the research group “Digital Democratic Innovations” as a research professor until 2026. His focus is on political aspects of smart cities and digital decision-making formats.
