Philipp Lutscher is a reseacher in the Research Division (Communication & Society) at bidt. His work in this role examines digital politics from an empirical and computational social science perspective. He previously held a postdoctoral position at the Department of Political Science, University of Oslo, where he worked on the ERC-funded ELDAR project led by Carl Henrik Knutsen. His research to date has focused on digital repression, internet censorship, propaganda, and information control in autocracies. His doctoral research was supervised by Nils Weidmann (University of Konstanz), Karsten Donnay (University of Zurich), and Margaret E. Roberts (UC San Diego). His work has appeared in the Journal of Peace Research, the European Journal of Political Research, and Perspectives on Politics, among others.
