Mixed Reality for Mobile Knowledge Work of the Future
Not least due to the Corona pandemic, mobile working is very widespread, especially among knowledge workers. However, often in the home office, on public transportation, or in waiting rooms, the work environments and available mobile devices are not optimal. Mixed reality has the potential to solve some such problems, for example by displaying virtual screens that can make working easier. Likewise, the work environment can be customized. This dissertation evaluates the practicality of using virtual work environments for extended periods of time, as well as various input and output options for interaction in the context of mobile work. These include conventional devices such as mouse, keyboard, and tablet, as well as hand gestures or eye tracking recognized by VR and AR glasses.
