Diversity and Inclusion in Digital Societies

The research group deals with different manifestations of diversity, inclusion and exclusion and the reactions to them in digital media from an interdisciplinary perspective. The participants in the research group are also dedicated to researching the digital transformation and its role in the inclusion of diverse groups, participation and its impact on discrimination, participation and inclusion. Innovative research questions on the scientific, social, political, economic and media connection between diversity and inclusion in digital societies and digitalization guide the work of this research alliance.
Theoretical and methodological approaches from the subjects of the researchers – (communication sciences, law, sociology and digital linguistics) – are used in an interdisciplinary way to investigate the digital transformation and its relevance for inclusion and participation using the example of digital media.
